*UFC 78 Results are up*

Keepin My Mouth Shut!

I was a brutal 50% in my UFC 78 predictions. It makes me think I should be hanging up the gloves myself! Some great fights with a lot of great action. I really enjoyed watching UFC 78 on Saturday night.

The main event was a good show, the 2 former UFC reality show fighters showed the crowd that they have to look forward too in the years to come. Of course we all know Evans knocked off Bisping in a split decision. That leaves Evans still without a lose in te UFC.

The UFC is sweet and it here to stay for a long, long time!

UFC 78 Hits the Stage

So I am sure all of you are ready to watch the rumble that will be UFC 78 on Saturday! I am surely pumped. Now I was a little slow to the draw this time for getting a readers input on preposed fight results but I will still be making my predictions tomorrow night. I will be posting them in the evening tomorrow and we all know how good I was last UFC. Well, nothing special but 7 for 9 isn't to shabby.

So anyways make sure you get out and watch this UFC, in the main event Bisping vs Evans one of the fighters will leave the night with their first lose in the UFC. Both are from the Ultimate Fighter Reality tv and both are really still trying to prove themselves as top players in the UFC. Talk to you all tomorrow with my predictions. Cheers!!

WWE vs UFC - Who Will Win!?

Well ok, it's not really WWE vs UFC but it kind of is. Former WWE star Brock Lesnar will face Former UFC Heavyweight Frank Mir at UFC 81. This will be Lesnar's first fight since being signed to the UFC a bit ago.

This will be a great stage for Brock to prove whether he belongs in the UFC or not. Hah I guess there is no dodging this bullet! It should really be an interesting match up though. I think Lesnars sheer size alone will make it difficult for any opponent to deal with. He is 6-3 ½, 265lbs, that is impressive.

At UFC 81 on November 2nd 2008 we will get to see if Lesnar the is Real Deal, or if this is just another shot lived ratings boost. You be the judge!

UFC 78: VALIDATION Preview

Is the UFC Not What It Use To Be?

When ever I read articles or any news about the UFC, there seems to be one main theme, that they have No High Profile Fighters and that MMA is falling back off the radar. Now there are a couple of things I have to say about that. SHUT YOUR TRAPS!!

Sure there are a couple of fighters that have either retired or have kind of lost there punching power. Does that mean the whole sport is going down, no chance. Were all of these so called UFC Superstars Always "Superstars"? Nope! They molded into the fighters and the ticket sellers they are today. Fighters don't just come in and instantly have Ticket Selling Appeal.

That brings me to my next point. There are more quality fighters in the UFC now then there has ever been. This means that with a better crop of fighters that there should soon be more "Superstars" rising to high profile status.

Every sport has their main Ticket Selling Athletes retire or loose appeal, that is what sports and business are all about. Every sport deals with that and bring along fresh new talent to keep filling the seats. I don't know about you but I think the UFC is in a great position and I enjoy watching the events now more then ever!

Spike and UFC Extend Contract

The Ultimate Fighting Championship and The Mans Network, Spike TV have extended their TV contract until 2011. This week they made the announcement of the deal which will keep a lot of amazing UFC events on the network. There were various details of the contract the looked interesting, I will list a few of the main keys of the deal.

They extended the Ultimate Fighther Series for the 9 - 12 season. There is going to be a new weekly fighting show that was signed for 2 full seasons. Plus, 4 times a year they will air live fights with UFC fight nights.

I think this is a smart move for both companys. I think Spike TV is a nice fit for UFC. Glad to see they got the deal done.

Slated for UFC 79

So it's now official, Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva are set to mingle in the main event for UFC 79 on December 29th. This should be a ver interesting fight, both are former champions. These two have been in the work to fight for years. It is finally going to happen. I know it's weird to hear me say this, but I want Liddell to win. If he were to lose then I think that would be the end of his career, I don't want to see that. I think he still has some show stopping ability in him. I can not wait to see this fight. Lets hear all of your input, send us your thoughts!

I Did Well! - 7 for 9

I don't know how you all did in your predictions but I had a good night 7 for 9 isn't to shabby. Paul's predictions went pretty good too with him going 6 for 9. All in all things were pretty routine for all the fights in UFC 77. It was nice to see Sylvia get a win fresh off this break. I really enjoyed the Silva vs Franklin fight, not only for the fighting buy also for what those two are doing for the sport alone. They are both amazing fighters and good people. Please send up some emails about how you all did and what your favorite fight was in UFC 77. We always love hearing from you!

Silva Still Not At US Banks Arena

It has been reported that Anderson Silva, the middle weight champion, has still not made it to the location of UFC 77. He had planned to be in town by now in order to prepare for the upcoming event but complications with his working visa have been an issue. He is suppose to be at location at some point on thursday.

I wonder if this liitle mishap will affect his proformace in the Ocatgone. I don't think it will, but if he loses that may be brought up as a helping factor. I am excited to see how it turns out. 2 MORE DAYS!!

Belt Up For Grabs

With the Heavyweight Champion belt holder Randy Couture retiring last week there is now a vacant spot sitting atop the Heavyweight Division.

Now the battle of the Open belt will begin on October 20th. Tim Sylvia vs Brandon Vera!! Tim will be looking to find the form he once had. After his lose to Randy for the belt in UFC 68 Tim went through a back surgery which has kept him out of the Octagone since. He will now be looking to make a statement to the fans that he is the man to fill the vacant spot left by Couture. I think he can be the man for the job and they he has the ability to keep fans in the seats. I like his style, I just hope it is the same as what it was before the surgery!

The Natural Calls It Quits!

Randy Couture rocked the whole MMA world today by retiring for a second time. The main UFC officials knew of Randy wanting to retire from a meeting they had a few week ago. It is said that UFC not being able to sign Fedor Emelianenko to a contract is what pushed him to retire. Emelianenko signed with Russian-based M-1 Mix Fight organization. Which meant that the two could never go toe to toe. I for one am shocked that it happened but Randy has so many other things to fall back on that he will have lots to do. It will now be interesting to see what happens in that division.

10 days Away - UFC 77!!

I don't know about any of you but I am already getting revved up for UFC77. I think that the Main Event - Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin could have potential to be the fight of the year!

A year ago at UFC 64 these two guys clashed for the first time is a fight that Franklin was suppose to win hands down. Silva ended up stunning Franklin in the first round. Now the tables have turned a little, Silva is tagged as the man to beat and very few people think he will lose.

This fight will be a great hit em up fight that will be both tactical and hard hitting. I garentee that Rich won't be taking Sivla lightly this time around but also I know that Silva has just gotten better and better since their fight a year ago.

This should be a fight for the ages and it is hard to say who will come out on top. Feel free to email us here at ufcpulse and tell us what you think. I will be giving my fight predictions a couple of nights before the event. Tell us what you think! I will be posting my predictions as well as predictions from a ufcpulse reader that emails us theirs. Talk to you again soon.

Bisping vs Evans - UFC 78 Main Event

The UFC announced there main event for UFC 78 this week, Bisping vs Evans. This will be exciting in a couple different respects. One, they both have yet to lose so for one of them it will be their first defeat in the Octagon. Second, the winner is sure to see a title shot in the near future. So with that said, I'm sure both men are going to take it to the limits in this fight.

This also just shows how well the Ultimate Fighter TV show has helped bring the level and competition of the UFC up as a whole. Both Bisping and Evans have been on the show and have also gotten into make a name for themselves. Like I have said all along I enjoy the Ultimate Fighter for more then just its face value! Talk to ya again soon.

Ronaldo Now In UFC

Soccer Star Ronaldo is done with soccer and now signed with the UFC. Just Kidding!! But Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza is now the newest addition to the Middleweight Division of the UFC. This move will be sure to add pazazzzz to the division. Ronaldo competed against UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture in a Professional Submission League grappling match last year, taking Couture to a scoreless draw. He is 5-1 in 6 MMA fights and each fight never made it out of the first round. Can't wait to see this guy Mingle. I got this info from fightopinion.com.

Ultimate Fighter Episode 2

So is was another great episode of the Ultimate figher series on Spike TV. It was the first fight so the tension was high and each respected coached wanted to get their team a victory. Serra's team vs Hughes team - Joe Scarola vs Mac Danzig. Mac Danzig eliminated Scarola giving Hughes team the first victory of the Season. Next week Matt Serra’s team gets to pick the fight, so they will be gearing up to try and make back some ground and get a solid win. Gotta Love It!!

Liddell May Retire

So it didn't take too long for Liddell to start talking about retirement after his most recent loss. The president of the UFC Dana White said he has had a few conversations with Liddell and that he would not be surprised if Chuck retired from fighting all together. With Chuck losing his last 2 fights, it has been brought up by many people, both in and out of the sport, about how they feel Liddell has no drive or passion for the ring anymore.

I know myself I haven't been a big Ice Man fan as of late. He has shown time after time recently that he is not fully into the sport anymore. I think that Liddell leaving would be a blow to the sport, but I think it is worthy if he can't compete anymore!

Some Good Fights!

The results are up for UFC 76. I will talk more about them tomorrow! By the way, I told you Liddell would fall! Talk to ya tomorrow everyone.

Who's Gonna Win?!

With UFC 76 all set to go tomorrow night Sept 22, I have been thinking about what outcomes I think will happen. First of all don't miss it tomorrow night 10 p.m. EST on pay-per-view. Now these picks may not be tactical but they are who I want to win!

The following is who I think will win: Keith Jardine, Mauricio Rua, Diego Sanchez, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Thiago Tavares, Matt Wiman, Jeremy Stephens, Scott Junk and Rich Clementi. There they are, take them or leave them. Lets see how I do!!

Ultimate Fighter 6 On The Grill

The first episode of The Ultimate fighter 6 is tonight. The show should make for another good season. The coaches for this season are UFC stars Matt Serra and Matt Hughes. Those two fighters being rivals should also spice it up from time to time too! The format is each guy will coach a team of 8 and see who becomes the champ. I love watching this show and it pumps me up even more that people from the previous shows have actually made some noise in the ranks of UFC. Great competition forsure. You can catch all of the shows week by week on the one and only Spike TV. Cheers for now!

Liddell Shows No Respect For Opponents

There has been talk for the longest time that Chuck Liddell is all about the party scene. It was brought up in direct relation when he lost his fight agains Rampage Jackson. Liddell went as far as to even party it up with Jacksons team.

I think that this type of attitude is showing his opponents no respect what so ever! I realize that the guy is really popular and at the height of this career but come on now. The guy fights only a few times a year and he can't take one night off from going and partying. If he can't stop partying even the week before a fight, atleast ease up the night before a monster ticket selling event. I say Chuck Liddell should calm down and maybe try and beat the best instead of thinking of where he will party next.

Tito Ortiz to Resign with the UFC

Tito Ortiz wants to resign with the UFC. I think this is a good move for him. Might as well stay with a company that is really starting to gain popularity. Tito has a uniue personality which I enjoy watching. Above is a classic Ortiz confrontation. I find he spices things up with his cocky attitude. I like the fact that he's coming back.

Cro Cop Over The Hill??

Well, I for one, was shocked once again as Mirko got defeated by Cheick Kongo. I know for a fact that I wasn't the only surprised fan cheering my boy on. Cro Cop who has lost his last two fights must be considering packing in the gloves.

Honestly I think that his UFC career is far from over. I am hoping that these two less the good outings will inspire the Mirko we know. He needs to renew his style and drive in order to regain his once untouchable form. I think his time in the Croatian Government has softened him up a little bit and he has less of a focus on beating people up.

I for one hope he still has the want to continue to dominate people in the ring because either way I will be a CRO COP fan for LIFE!!

Bisping vs. Hamill Once Again

There is already talk of a rematch between Michael Bisping and Matt Hamill. Only days after a much anticipated bout went to Bisping in a split-decision, UFC Pres Dana White was quoted as saying "a no-brainer and I'm going to be on it right away.". This means that a rematch can't be far away either.

With all of the hype around this fight and the split decision, the rematch between these two guys is sure to sell tickets and give the fans another great show!

Still No Fedor Emelianenko in the UFC

Talks this week between Fedor Emelianenko's group and the UFC have broken up without any deal in site. UFC hopes to get Fedor Emelianenko under contract soon, but it looks like both sides are being difficult. Hopefully they can agree on something soon!

Jackson is all Ready to Rumble at UFC 75

It seems like Rampage is all ready to rumble it up in the coming days. He sounds focused and ready to keep showing the fans how good he is. In a recent interview with insidefighting.com Rampage talks about really focusing on himself and not worrying too much about his counterpart. Ramage goes on to say

" Every time I’ve looked at other fighter’s film I’ve fallen asleep doing so. I try not to look at other fighter’s film too much. I’ll probably watch it once or twice, if that. But I’ll fall asleep doing so. I’m not a guy that studies other people’s film I’m not worried about what Dan Henderson is going to do to me, I just concentrate on what I’m going to do to him. And sometimes I get in trouble with that and sometimes I don’t."

The way Rampage talks pumps me up and I can't wait to see this brawl! Read the whole article here at insiderfighting.com

MMA or Boxing?

There has been a long tailed battle going on since the popularity of MMA has grown. What is better, MMA or Boxing? I have seen many tv shows and read many articles that show many different opinions. I am now going to share mine.

I think that they are both totally different ends of the court. We know that boxing in the past few years seems to have taken a serious hit with popularity, but then comes the Mayweather Jr vs De La Hoya fight. The fight that showed boxing it still for real.

I think MMA has a great product and is selling a great business as well, but it will need many more years of the results it is producing today in order to really show that it is taking dominating boxing. At that point I think people will be able to state that boxing is being taken over out right my MMA.

Both sports have great things about them and I think people need to glorify both in order to keep the sports strong and entertaining. Thanks for reading and send me an email with your thoughts.

UFC Shows it's Not All About the Money

UFC President Dana White tells Yahoo Sports about why they choose to put UFC 75 on cable with a tape delay. Here's a quote from the article

"It's just something I believe in and believe in strongly," White said. "I'm always going to do that. We ask our fans to buy a lot of pay-per-view and so I believe they deserve this. And I'm not going to be greedy and give them all of the good stuff on pay-per-view and put dog (expletive) on (basic cable) TV. I'm going to put our best guys on for them."

I think this guy is an amazing businessmen and he is doing all the right things to attract people to the UFC. If he keeps going like this then the sky is the limit for the UFC. Read the whole article here at Yahoo Sports
